Achievers’ Center for Education (“ACE”) is a 501(C)(3) Texas non-profit organization. ACE operates the Achievers’ School (“Achievers’”) located inside University United Methodist Church, on the corner of De Zavala and Vance Jackson.
Achievers’ School is a new educational option for 6th through 12th graders who are two or more years behind grade level in any academic area. Achievers’ enrolls students with and without physical disabilities. The School features a low student-teacher ratio and hands-on teaching methods that are producing amazing results! These teaching strategies have been shown to be effective for many students with dyslexia and other learning difficulties. Our goal is to help kids succeed in God’s world. For more information, contact Roger Tetro, Chief Operating Officer, at (210) 690-7328, or the School office at (210) 690-7359. They will provide information and references from satisfied parents.

The mission of the Achievers’ Center for Education is to educate a diverse group of secondary-aged students with learning challenges who, together with Christ, will learn to live effectively in God’s world.

Achievers’ is fully accredited through The International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA). ICAA is an affiliate of the Oral Roberts University Educational Fellowship (ORUEF), which is a non-profit, interdenominational fellowship of Christian schools established to help members accomplish goals and to assist in the advancement of Christian education. The State of Texas accepts ICAA accreditation.

In the spirit of Christian unity and the love that Christ shows for all humankind, Achievers’ Center for Education (“ACE” or “ACHIEVERS’”) does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex or national or ethic origin. However, ACE does reserve the right to use appropriate selection criteria for employees and students in fulfillment of its mission, stated goals and objectives.

As a Christian school, we want our students to have a relationship with Christ and to know of God’s love and grace. Students participate in daily chapel services. Families are invited to join us! Our curriculum affirms our faith. That said, students of all beliefs are welcome to apply for admission to Achievers’.

1. We believe in God, our Creator and Father; in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior; and in the Holy Spirit, our Guide and Guard.
(I John 5:4-6)
2. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative and infallible Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16)
3. We believe Jesus was fully divine and fully human. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His sacrificial and atoning death, His resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of God the Father and the certainty of His personal return in power and glory. (I Corinthians 15:3; I Peter 2:21-30; John 3:16)
4. We believe the guidance of the Holy Spirit will bring us into a right relationship with God, often called "new birth" or "conversion." This new relationship with God is called "salvation." It marks a new beginning and is part of an ongoing process. We believe that only by God’s grace and through faith alone we are saved. (John 3:3-5: Ephesians 2:8-9)
5. We believe that the church is a local assembly of believers under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the discipline of the Word of God. The church functions through the realization of authentic discipleship in the daily lives of believers. We believe we are to make disciples of Christ and, together in ministry for Him, advance the Kingdom of God. (I Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:11-16)
6. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in all believers and provides the powers and gifts of the Spirit for use in building up the Church universal. (John 14:16; Acts 1:5-8; I Corinthians 12-14; Galatians 5:22)
7. We affirm our belief in the priceless worth of each individual. We are called to be faithful to the example of Jesus’ ministry to all persons, including those with any disabilities. (Matthew 17:14-21; John 9:1-34; Luke 18:15-17)
8. We believe in the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in His Final Judgment, when the unsaved will be judged and separated from Him forever, and the saved will live forever in Heaven in fellowship with Him. (Romans 3:21-30; Galatians 4:4-7; John 5:28-29)
9. We acknowledge our complete dependence upon God in birth, in life, in death and in life eternal. (Romans 3:21-30;
Galatians 4:4-7)

Students learn best in a positive, supportive, instructional environment. Learning continues when curriculum is tailored to the students’ learning style. Through daily prayer, devotions, Bible verse exercises and worship, students can grow to know and claim the life resources available through faith in God and the Bible. It is the desire of Achievers’ Center for Education that each student comes to know and claim the love and grace of Jesus Christ for themselves and shares them with others.
A loving and caring Christian environment will develop individual
personalities and help students to appreciate their personal worth to God.
Students should be prepared to be successful as measured
by God’s standards instead of worldly standards.
Attention should be paid to the intellectual, emotional,
social, physical, religious and moral development of every student.
ACHIEVERS’ teaching process is designed for children who: exhibit a variety of learning styles; learn at different paces; and who are two or more years below grade level in any academic area. Intensity, frequency and duration of instruction impact student learning.
- Our school encourages students to master the tools of learning and communication, while working to inspire and motivate them to be continuous learners throughout their lives.
-
Parents/Sponsors, our school and our community are educational partners who provide
role models to help students become productive citizens and life-long learners.
-
Students will be provided opportunities for developing skills necessary to be
integrated into the community and workforce.
-
Students will recognize the importance of community service by being God’s
hands and participating in community outreach projects now and in the future.

Our ultimate goal is to train students to become mature in Christ by “discipling” and teaching them Christ-like behaviors. We utilize Love & Logic management tools to help students: develop self-control; learn to accurately identify problems; and formulate plans to solve them.

Discipline is expected to be consistent and based on an understanding of the individual needs of each student. Our goal is to teach self-control and help students make good choices. Recognition for appropriate behavior is given. Guided direction is given when students are not able to make appropriate choices. Individual intervention plans will be developed if needed, and parents or guardians will be kept informed and/or consulted as ACE deems appropriate or necessary.
